Ben Causer

As a child, Ben was always fascinated by physical therapies and injury. Having always been involved in sports, he represented both his county and England playing badminton from age 8-20. Finding himself more and more interested in strength and its effect on rehabilitation, Ben joined the fitness industry at 18 and by the time he turned 21 was a full-time gym instructor.

After trying his hand at managing a number of gyms he realised his focus was on training rather than administration and applied himself to personal training, running his own consultancy business alongside his full-time gym work. In 2008 Ben studied Sports & Remedial Massage at NLSSM and it changed his approach to training entirely.

“I learnt to look at people as individuals. I’ve trained everyone from desk-bound office workers to professional cricketers, swimmers, MMA fighters and athletes. The process is the same regardless of where people are on the spectrum of fitness but I am able to tailor my approach and adapt it to suit the individual needs of my students.”

By the time Ben became involved in Fit6 in 2014 he was training the trainers, building up an arsenal of clients wanting to share his knowledge, as well as working as part of a team of physicians for West Ham United Football Club, attending to players’ such as Carlton Cole, Jack Collinson and current club captain, Winston Reid, with their rehabilitation and sports massage needs.

Highly skilled in strength and conditioning training, Ben regularly works with martial arts athletes, applying his knowledge to clients training in kickboxing, jujitsu and MMA. One of his most high profile clients is Ross Kemp who plays Grant Mitchell in Eastenders.

Ben is focused on helping his students to increase their strength, power, endurance, stability and mobility. Throughout his career he’s built up specialist knowledge in areas such as nutrition, fitness in pregnancy and the effects of exercise in ageing to allow to him to impart well-rounded advice on all aspects of your well-being.
